Pastor McClung, II began his ministerial work under the
guidance and direction of his earthly father, Dr. W.D. McClung
and the support of the New Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
Paul’s words to Timothy to “Study to shew thyself
approved…” have been the cornerstone to Pastor
McClung, II’s work in God’s vineyard as he progressed
in his ministerial assignments.

As time progressed, the membership increased greatly and Pastor McClung, II saw the needs of the membership and ordained the church’s first deacons and established the Diaconate. He also organized the Trustee Board, Christian Education Department, Sunday School, Music Ministry, Usher Board, Audio and Media Ministry, Youth Ministry, Sacred Dance Ministry, Women and Men’s Ministries, Recreation Ministry, Singles Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Sheparding Ministry, and the 12 Tribes of Emmaus.
God gave a tremendous vision to Pastor McClung, II for a young church and he called the Emmaus Church Family together to raise an offering to secure land/or property for the building of a temple for God. As directed by God’s vision and the people’s commitment, on Thursday, June 30, 2005, Pastor McClung, II, closed on the Church’s new home and property address of 9928 Lyons Mills Road, Owings Mills, MD. In February 2007, Emmaus held its first services in this new facility.
Rev. W. D. McClung, II, completed his undergraduate work at Miles College and his graduate work at Samford University both located in Birmingham, AL. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. Pastor McClung, II is married to Maria Antoinette Larkin of Bessemer, AL, and they are the parents of five children.
